Hello reader. It's time for another editor update about our upcoming ninth issue. Just in case you arrived here without seeing anything on our site or on our socials, somehow, we have news! RABBLE REVIEW No.9 will be released on October 10th. We also unveiled the cover for the ninth issue. We're so excited to build towards the release of the issue and we hope you're there in October to read the new issue.

If you have been a reader of ours for awhile, you'll realize that we made this announcement a lot earlier than usual. In the past we usually wait until a week or two before we announce a release date. I think once we unveiled the release only a few days in advance. As I have shared numerous times, we are a small team of volunteers, so the work gets done when we can. But as we grow we're trying to exercise a little more discipline with our messaging as well. We also want to do right by our contributors and readers. Getting published in a litmag is fantastic, but having a diverse audience be able to actually read it is even better. Having folks actually read a literary journal in the first place is a huge challenge, so we want to generate hype and interest as soon as possible.

Since our first issue we have utilized social media to show off our visuals and published works, making stylish trailers, and graphics to catch the eyes of potential readers, and excite our contributors. This year the announcement coincided with my own friends EP release. Her name is Vero Muerte and her song Night Desire is all over the promotion of the ninth issue. She is my friend, sure, but I'm actually a fan of her music, and her music fit the moody visuals of our new cover, provided by the fantastic, Omar Lopez. If you liked the snippet of track I shared then please check out the rest of her EP streaming now on all your streaming sites, and available for purchase on Bandcamp. Plus, in our current political climate, it is always a great idea to support queer and trans artists of color, who are making exciting art.

We are also planning to do a livestream release for our ninth issue. We did one for Issue No.7 but were unable to do one for Issue No.8 unfortunately. For Issue No.9 we will be getting back on track, and we hope to have more livestreams over time. Since we are a digital first literary journal, we thought it would be cool to embrace that and hold our celebrations via livestream. The last two livestreams we did were back in 2023! But I do remember them being fun. I produce the livestreams, using my knowledge of Twitch and livestreaming to bring our literary magazine to your screens. I hope you tune in. We'll have more to share as we approach the release date.

If all of these plans excite you then please consider giving us a donation via our donations page. Most of our improvements and growth this year has cost money, and most of it has been out of our own pockets. We're happy to bring all this work to you, but we will always appreciate financial support as well.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something important. If I am, be sure to check back for our third editor update. Thank you for your continued to support, reader. Also if you haven't already, please read our past issues. Just head over to the issue you want to read and click, read now. You have eight issues to read, so get to it!
